Yu-Gi-Oh wasn't even intended for children to begin with, but 4kids assumes every anime is for children. If it had violence and other adult-like matters in the show, there would be no point to butchering it because obviously it wasn't intended for little kids to being with. That's why I only watch the Japanese version. It makes more sense in terms of plot and character and while I'll admit that I DO like the 4kids voice actors they chose, I didn't like the overall change of the anime.

@MsTriniC Yu-Gi-Oh was originally intended for teens and young adults. Of course, most people here think anime like YGO is for children, when it wasn't. They brutally butchered the anime.

when I fist watch yugioh so many years ago. There were some things I couldn't understand. Like when Marik said to yugi there were text writing on the card that only yugi can read but there was no text on the card (confusing) and why didn't the real life card look like the anime card until i saw the original and it just blew me away. I was wow but there was no sub so I didn't understand and waited until that ep came out in US and damn it sucked. I just gave up watching US yugioh after that.

I think you're being a little too elitist about it. Sure, there are some bad cuts, but I think the dub theme is catchier than the J-pop one.

I'm sorry to say but 4KIDS version was way better & much more excitin. The original is really drag & boring. I had a difficult time just getting through the 1st half of the 1st episode. Also the original version was not appropriate 4 kids. In the original, the character voices were so off, they looked uglier,& the coloring was terrible. Even if 4kids may have drifted away 2 much 2 do the anime justice, it made up 4 this by improving everything else. The voices were better, & every1 looked gr8.
