  • Thanx for turning me on to this, 60otaku3. Very nice tune. The only versions I've ever heard of this tune were 2 done for the 'Stan Getz - Live at the Roost' sessions. I first heard this song, of all places, at a restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska (part of the background music during dinner)! I asked the waiter to find out what it was and I immediately went out and bought it when I got back to the lower 48.

  • You're very welcome, jazznik2-san!!

I intend to post some tunes for you someday from Stan Getz's album "Live at the Roost' Sessions".

  • You're welcome, jilmjones-san!!

Incidentally, Jimmy Raney is recording on Fantasy Records this tune with Red Norvo in same year.

  • Thanks for your comment, kitsuneswordsman-san!!

I believe this play is one of masterpieces by the collaboration works of Jimmy Raney and Stan Getz.

  • Jazz ai massimi livelli !!!!!!

  • Funny, Stan Getz is credited on Jimmy Raney Plays (Prestige PRLP 156) as 'Sven Coolson' because of his contractual obligations at the time with Norman Granz, on Clef/Norgran/Verve. (These odd aliases crop up from time to time. Anyone out there have some to cite?)

Also recorded at this New York session (23 APR 1953) were LEE, 'ROUND MIDNIGHT, & MOTION.

  • Amazing Sax.

Good thing it doesn't have any thumbs down, cuz it doesn't deserve one.

  • jazz is my favorite style
