  • It looks purple because the camera can see the longwave Infrared light that the manifold is putting off that we cannot see.

    Good cameras have an IR filter built in so that the image looks closer to what we see with our own eyes, but cheap cameras do not have this filter.

  • how does it turn purple instead of red? is it due to the coating on the pipes?

  • @IncikAirmie I had the same question, i think it might just be the camera picking up infrared instead of the red light.
