23 year old Ashlie Gough has died after being found unresponsive in a tent at the Occupy Vancouver encampment at the Vancouver Art Gallery. "I thought she was sleeping" the distraught woman who found her friend unconscious told onlookers while police and paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman.

Some protesters and residents of the tent city became hostile towards photographers and media personnel. Several incidents of assault were documented.

At one point, two groups of protesters yelled angrily at each other across a span of tents, with one group accusing the other of bringing ill-repute to the protest by doing drugs.

At the end of the video, a protest camp volunteer wearing an orange high-visibility vest asks the Global BC news camera "Let's see what your news is." The Global BC news report can be seen at http://www.globaltvbc.com/woman+dies+at+occupy+vancouver+encampment/644251568...

In a further strange twist of events, the band D.O.A. ("Dead on Arrival") began performing a live outdoor concert about 20 metres away while police stretched crime scene tape around the now-collapsed tent where the lifeless woman was discovered.

davidjohn83 asks: "i wonder why? what happened? can u say more?"

My reply: "Drug overdose is suspected but unconfirmed. Earlier this week, an overdose patient was transported to the hospital and recovered. I have another clip, not included in this video, featuring two groups of protesters yelling angrily at each other, one side accusing the other of bringing ill repute to the Occupy Vancouver protest by doing drugs."

  • I went down there to see what it was like but left after like 30 minutes after i realized the place was full of assholes.

  • Another drug addict that is a victim of the capitalist system Haha? I want you dirtbags to elaborate on what system FORCES someone to use heroin. I think this a clear case of "Idle hands are the devil's tools" Every individual is responsible for their own actions. So it is time for these deadbeats to start doing some real work like cleaning the streets and the PUBLIC space they have been abusing for weeks.

Meanwhile their imaginary 1% actual start a company and create jobs.
