  • Love your review and I am glad you did not bash it. Critics make a mistake of comparing Supergirl with Superman. They have different backstories so therefore are not going to be the same. The love triangle however was not needed.

  • @LBF522 thanks for the feedback!. im glad you enjoyed the film. :)

  • Finally a Youtube reviewer brave enough to break a popular trend and not bully the crap out of this film. To be honest I like it, as I kid I thought it was magical, I didnt notice or care about little plot holes.Youtube reviewers bash a film because everyone else is and its just popular choice. I had no problem with this film it was good childhood fun in the 80's and better than whats being released for kids these these days aka Transformers

  • @mintyspace Thank you for the kind feedback. Its very easy to slag off films and point out their bad points. But i'm trying to do something different. I'm not saying this film is good but there are nice parts too it and its well made film on a technical level. Youtube and blip.tv have become over saturated with misinformed people who just ranting about a particular film being shit for the purpose of a joke. Its become a bit stale now.

  • @ollyh82 Warner Bros. I didn't know that Anchor Bay had released it. I know they've released some Disney Films, but didn't know that they had licensed titles from Warner Bros. Two of the Disney titles that I have on VHS from Anchor Bay are "The Cat from Outer Space" and "The Black Hole" (Letterboxed).

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace that is so odd why its not released in the states. Is there an issue with the content in the film?. Do you have the anchor bay or Warner release of Supergirl?

  • @ollyh82 No, I don't. It was never released in the U.S. in any format. The German DVD Region 2 release is the only version that I've found, although Amazon offers it as a digital download. Strange, as the film was made at 20th Century-Fox and they've released a ton of films on video.

I checked my Region 1 NTSC DVD release of "Supergirl." It has the "European theaterical version with 10 minutes of footage not seen in North American Theatres."

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace no ive never heard of that film mate. Only released in germany!. thats crazy. im sure you have it on LaserDisc?.;)

  • @ollyh82 Even a negative review can entice me to buy a film on video, or check it out if it's still playing in theatres. I read a negative review back in the day for the Mel Brooks comedy "Spaceballs." After reading the (negative) review I went right out and saw it in a theatre. :)

Have you ever heard of the Jerry Lewis film "Way Way Out" (1966)? The only release I've found is the German DVD release "Jerry, Das Mondkalb." Fox doesn't seem to want to release it in the U.S.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace I well think because its a old film Warners aren't too bothered. But maybe if you upload footage of a recent Warner feature they may have a problem with it. In the end of the day video reviews always get more sales for the studios.
