A large woodland brush fire erupted at George Bush Park on September 13, 2011 located in Houston, Texas. Over 100 firefighters from at least 15 different agencies were called to fight the blaze. This was the largest fire in the parks' history. Several other fires erupted during the summer due to the record heat and drought east Texas has experienced. Video by Ryche Guerrero, Photojournalist.
@engine6944 All of these departments are departments that deal with structural fires regularly. While there are the occasional grass fires (and the past year, large amounts of brush fires) this is not an everyday thing for us. Other than the big bird suits, we unfortunatley are not equipped with fire shelters or any other specialized "wildland" equipment for that matter.
