is it just me, or did Fed's swing become more compact throughout the years? He seemed to take bigger swings at the ball than he does now. Even his serve changed.

His backhand has so much pop in 04 and his total court coverage is insane. It's sad to contrast this and today with him losing a step.

1:03 - 1:30 is why I absolutely love and hate federer in equal measure. He loses 2 points from amazing net play by hewitt to get him to 40-30, so what does federer do? Plays a drop shot to bring hewitt into the net, and the only reason why he won the point was through a rediculous backhand pick up. The stubborness is probably whats made him so great (and great to watch), but its such a shame that characteristic shines through in the big matches against nadal
