n solidarity with the worldwide Occupy movement, Occupy Houston will be participating in the International Day of Action which has been called for Thursday, November 17. We will be meeting at Market Square Park at 4:00 PM and will march to the I-45 bridge over White Oak Bayou.
We're starting to get the 1% to pay attention. But this system's still rigged against us: Wall Street is still making billions and taking our homes, and Congress can't pass a jobs bill. To amplify the economic emergency, we're making Thursday, November 17, a massive day of action to show "We Are The 99%. In big cities, suburbs, and small towns, we're declaring an economic emergency at the very places that can put America back to work: our crumbling bridges, understaffed schools, and other sites that represent a failed economy. Just days before the Super Committee's deadline to propose more cuts for the 99% or increased taxes for the 1%, we'll show Congress and the media that we want an economy for the 99% of us. Come out and amplify your voice and help increase the pressure on Congress to tax Wall Street to create millions of jobs. This event is in partnership with SEIU and the AFL-CIO.
