Cute sparrows taking snow bath. Pittsburgh, PA 1/15/2011 (1 of 2)

A few days ago, the lid of our recycling trash can made a perfect, shallow bird bath, which our backyard sparrow flock used with energy and enthusiasm. Today it's like ice station zebra outside. But the sparrows have apparently designated this as the bird bath, and it makes no difference to them what state the water's in. Snow's probably just as good if not better than liquid water for getting rid of parasites and grime. Enjoy!
