Eric Ingram has been studying Gracie Combatives for a few years under the tutelage of his brother, Troy Ingram -- a certified instructor at Bill Odom's Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center in Norfolk, VA. Eric is quadriplegic, meaning all four limbs are affected by his condition, but is obviously not paralyzed. In his modified blue belt test, Eric demonstrates a level of resourcefulness and adaptiveness that can only be be likened to that which Grand Master Helio Gracie used to modify the Japanese Jiu-Jitsu techniques. To the Grand Master, nothing was more fulfilling than to empower the weak against the strong, and there is little doubt that seeing Eric's adaptation his art would have moved him greatly.

I can't see a lot of his takedowns working. If you disagree could you please explain why I'm wrong/ how his takedowns work?

Does this also mean since females are weaker, we shouldn't allow them belts? I would like to know the martial arts backround of anyone posting any of the negative shit about this man. So far I have seen Haixtu or whatever his name is, has videos full of him playing video games. Anyone with any sort of real BJJ experiance (3+ years) would applaud this man and know that he is a deserving blue belt.

All the people hating on this athlete, are either a bunch of internet mma nerds who have trained for 1 month, or even worse yet, new blue belts that are hating on this guy because they feel like their accomplishment is being demeaned. A 130 pound black belt will probably not tap a 210 brown belt. Does that mean he doesn't deserve it? No, it means he has achieved the skill level that his body allows. If this man has achieved a blue belt level of jiujitsu that his body allows, then why hate?

@joniswolfman thats a nice attitude but an incredibly unrealistic one. There are physical and mental limits for everyone, not everything is possible but everyone can do their best with what they have and that is what the gracies gave this guy the belt for ,they know and everyone else knows he could never defend himself with those techniques. That doesnt diminish erics efforts but obviously he doesnt fulfill the belt criteria. If it were solely a self improvement course hed deserve it.

@joniswolfman I feel sorry for you that your mind has a limit....... open your mind to things that you think are impossible...... for Brazillian Jiu Jitsu has no limits
