The Memorial Hall has been a focal point in Outwood for over fifty years, built in 1952 to commemorate the fallen in the second world war 1939-45. In the words of the Rev John Butterworth, They are our heros, they have achieved victory and they have achieved peace in Western Europe and other parts of the Western World for the last fifty years and more. This video tells the story of the hall from its inception in 1952 to the rededication service and celebration in 2002.
