Fifty five years ago, the voice of the Arabs or Sawt Al Arab radio was launched in Cairo, broadcasting the revolutionary ideology of Egypt's new leaders -- the Free Officers who had overthrown the monarchy.

Taking advantage of cheap transistor technology the Egyptian regime was able to get its message across the Arab World.
And by using a combination of emotional Arabist rhetoric and popular singers like Um Khalthoum, the voice of the Arabs emerged at a critical moment in the history of Arab unity.

  • I'm a Malaysian but I feel such a strong engagement with the Arabs becoz they had a great leader once; Muhammad s.a.w.

I can only see unity when the Arabs understand the true values of what he preached.

  • Long live the Arab Nation!!!

  • @zulhimi86 God bless you. I have been in Malaysia and you are a role model, I love your country and people

  • Here we go....this is HOW they CAN unite: Allow each state its independent sovereignty. These states w/its own leaders: governors/sheikhs/emirs, rule locally. Confederately-each state sends a representative to the Union-Council;similar to the congress or Majlis. At the executive level ? An executive commitee of 3-5. "Hukm bal shurra".....United but independent. As for religion leave it to the individual. For me it would be Islam&I would love my Shiite or Christian neighbor all the same!

    Sallam

  • How can you write "Islam IS the solution"? Islam is used by both left- and right-wing politics for both progressive and traditional (regressive/stagnating) movements. The same is true regarding ALL religions. Know history.

    Religion IS the problem.

  • @352715 you are not arab or muslims get out of here

  • Islam IS the solution, what do they have of their identity if not Islam? All the successful empires of the 8-14th century revolved around Islam. Its when individualism from Western societies infiltrated ours is when it started to go backwards. People practice so they can brag about it, fast so they can rid all their sins. They've forgotten the way to TRULY follow Islam in beliefs AND in practice.

  • Islam is the problem u dickhead, religion is the problem of us Arabs

    fuck off

  • The solution is not Islam.the solution is for every country to take care of its people!!!

  • Thtas absolutly right, No one follow true Islam today!

But in Unity, we need the arabs to unite first!

  • To put it simply:

    Islam is the solution

True Islam is democracy, Mercy and assimilation of all humans juslty and tolerantly. That's how the Golden age and Salah Al-ddin ruled.

We are miles afar from true Islam. Non-Muslims are miles afar from understanding true Islam.

Taht's the crux of the whole problem, in a nutshell.

    May God guide us All.

  • fuck Iran and Turkey good for nothing, vermins, they know nothing about Islam.
