Just picked up the the 42nd street forever vol. 3 and 4 with Edwin Samuelson commentary. It is awesome if you like Edwin of the Cine Files and enjoy great retro Grind house trailers i would pick it up now.

dear Cinefiles,

i can understand your criticisms with the exception of Danny Glover as the main character. however there was one detail that you missed. one of you remarked that the Maria Conchita Alonso character was spared because of the noble reason that the predator felt pity for her. however, in hunter culture, it's very frowned upon to kill impregnated prey, not for altruistic reasons, but because you would be denying future hunters the prey you killed before it was a "viable" prey item.

Predator 2 was the very first predator movie that i ever watched and it wasnt that bad, i say Predator the next day and i was really amazed, i was like " predator 2 is just ok, predator is the real shit ! " i can see tis flaws but i liked some parts, like the design and the characteristics of the urban predator. Predators was just ok, i see it more of a homage to the original than a ripoff or "the same movie" lots of miscasts and it could have been 10 times better.

BTW, I've never seen Predators, but I saw the scene on YouTube where a human with just a sword kills a Predator with those wrist-blades. Sorry, that is absolutely *laughable*. If the film bothered to stay true to the Predator's "mythology" the human would have had absolutely no hope of staying alive more than a few seconds, let alone kill a Predator.

Enjoyed the discussion, but the Predator has a "several megaton bomb"? I don't think so, guys. A megaton is WAY beyond the power of that bomb. Hiroshima was merely 15 kilotons and it surely was more powerful than that. I'd say that bomb is at most 1 kiloton.
