The Yaaku people live in the Mukogodo forest west of Mount Kenya.
The Yaaku are fighting for the recognition of their identity and the control over their territory. They are striving for communal property of the forest, which is now administered by the state. To strengthen their sense of identity, they are trying to revive their language.

A film by Matthijs Blonk, in cooperation with the Yaaku people of Doldol, Kenya, and Maarten Mous & Hans Stoks.

  • Good video.

  • everything u say is right EXEPT for the fact, that Yaaku's are NOT Bantu people and they dont even speak a bantu language,

Yaaku's are eastern-Cush'itic peoples like The Afar and the Tutsi's and the Somali's and the Masaii's...

besides their language Yaaku is also a eastern-Cush'itic language... do some research next time kid...

    Peace

  • Sorry but this is African Uhuru at its best, you can see doc Addio 1956, shows the lies behind the African Blackman, these people are all Bantu, SAN bushmen are 1,5 meters in Hight. DNA test prove, that they were Nomadic people, not tribal, the blowing horn and everything here is tribal. Sorry but this is the biggest bullshit i have seen, kinda like the Jewish tribes of Zimbabwe, question 1 in the Great inclosure in Zim, why did it have such a high wall? and why were they found living in huts?
