Ernie's stuff kicks butt after many years. If we watched stuff like this on TV today we would simply be better people and not nervous gray little ants.

These "blackouts" were originally produced as "clues" for "TAKE A GOOD LOOK" in 1960; that show was a quasi-game where the celebrity panel (including Edie Adams) had to determine what newsworthy event a contstant had to do with. Ernie, as emcee, "helped" them by providing these "clues". Bobby Lauher assists Ernie in the second one (and was repeated in the final Kovacs special in January 1962).
