Does the thought of modeling a city full of skyscrapers make your brain melt? Relax! Ed Whetstone's Kludge City will take care of the hard work so you can concentrate on all the other elements without going bonkers! This tutorial by Stuart Christensen will guide you through the simple process of loading Kludge City into Maya to create skyscrapers in minutes. Ed Whetstone created this elegant MEL script and offers it free to the world so remember to consider donating a little bit to Ed so that he can keep on bringing us the "good stuff"!

  • Hey can i ask anyone of you? Is this script can be only used for non-commercials purposes? what if i use it in my projects or competitions? is there any legal issues?

  • @MrElkms You can use Kludge for anything you wish. If you are going to use it for commercial stuff it's a nice gesture to donate a little bit to Ed Whetstone through the paypal button on his website.....but it's not mandatory. Ed W. has created Kludge for all to use! Send him an image of what you have done with Kludge...He likes that!

  • thank you so much stu!

  • @isyutd159 You are most welcome!

  • i can oly seem to make 1 building even when i select a different one. it just doubles over the first one and its really annoying. i've closed it down and restarted everything but i just dont know what else to do.

  • @Kdude1001 Remember, when you make that first building to select it and move it out of the way! It's sitting on top of the actual (original) Kludge footprint. So, if you create another (the same) building right after the first one, and you do not select and load a different footprint, or move the first building out of the way, Kludge will create the same one over and over again at the same place. Play around with it!
