~ Using Ubuntu 9.04; Works with other versions of Ubuntu as well. ~ The instructions are simple and straightforward. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
So if I'm hosting an apache2 webserver and I configure my IP to 192.168.0.15 or something, how will a computer from a different ISP be able to recognize that that's not the 192.168.0.15 on their local network instead of my server on the web?
Thank you, Worked really well

OK - I followed this and couldn't reboot afterwards (hung at "starting NFS common utilities").
Had to edit /etc/network/interfaces to look like this:
to look like this (change addresses and 'eth0' to your nvalues)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.100
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
