The crowd got this decision for Micky Ward. In the 7th and 8th rounds Burton landed loads of shots that spun Ward's head around but there was absolutley no reaction from the crowd. Shame Burton couldn't bang just a touch harder, he would of hit the big time for sure.

i think that augustus won that fight easily. most of ward s punches didnt land, while augustus hit him with some good shots.

how in the fuck did ward win this fight?! musta been the crowd and some hometown judges. if you're actually watching the fight, you can see emanuel's defense is two classes above micky's, and his punches are WAY more accurate.

through 7 rounds I gave 5 to burton, 1 to ward, 1 even.

Round 7 was one of the technical virtuoso rounds I've ever seen. Burton (Augustus) performed surgery on that ass in the seventh. Absolutely beautiful. And normally when ANYONE lands more than 400 punches in a fight, they tend to win. I don't care if Ward knocked him down in rd 9, he lost rd 10, and most of the other rounds after round 4. Robbery. Simple and Plain.

Horrible decision. Great fight. Horrible deision. Best case I can make for Ward here is a daw to behones.

@EqualWhites I disagree on that one. He actually missed a great deal and they went easy on him, which is fairly standard for most ofhis fights. Unlike most fighters though he'll miss but throw 100 more behind it and hes gonna get you with something. Augustus showed his usual canny skills and slick defense. He always stayed at an angle away from wards right causing most of them to slide right over his shoulder. His left glove was up and his right arm crossed his gut stopping most body shots.

Burton spent too much time on the ropes making Ward look as if he were winning.

Burton also won round 10. The audience was primed but they certainly gave influence to the judges. I mean I would have scored it a draw. But the judges simply missed the fight. I can't understand how you can't do a job that you get paid to do when the average person could have scored better then them.

The stamina and willpower that these two men must be well beyond that of even the most seasoned athlete.
