So I found out I was doing it on 2.4.0 which is newest version and I'm not sure if I restore and then jailbreak would I still be able to get my apps back? Thanks for your time greatly appreciated :)

Yeah, you should be able to get your apps back after you jailbreak your device.

I am using absinthe 2.0 im pretty sure that's the most recent version and I have resorted to restoring and I have backed up on iTunes already. Do I jailbreak before or after I restore it and get my stuff back?

I believe there is a version out thats newer than that, like version 2.4. If you do the reset, JB before you attempt to restore. I would try the latest version of Absinthe first though before you reset it.

Hey, so I am attempting this on my iPhone 3GS and i hit the jail break button and after it loads about an eighth of it it says there was a problem. Does anyone know why? I've tried this method on three different computers help much appreciated :)

Are you using the most recent version of Absinthe? I have heard that some people have had to restore their iDevice back to stock before jailbreaking it, but I would only do that as a last resort.
