Art is not generally open to interpretation. People who make art have a specific audience in mind, and are utilizing formalist concepts in order to present their very specific ideas. If you do not understand those ideas, it doesn't make their art subjective, it means you are not part of the very specific target audience, and have no right to ethically make a statement about that art.

Not everything is art just because it has meaning, and not all art is for you.
