One of my favourites, from the album WHERE YOU LIVE by Tracy Chapman. As far as I know, the song was released as a second single from WHERE YOU LIVE in 2005. The song didn't have a video. Now here it is... Enjoy it!

I love this song. America's 'freedom' has come from the pain and exploitation of so many.

But not all americans yet have complete freedom. All those Native Americans (my ancestors, tyvm) that they put on reservations, lots are still there and are too poor to get out because it was only in like the 70's that they could leave, and there are still lots of prejudiced peeps out there who wont hire them. So lots of NA kids become alchoholics and drug addicts because they have nothing better to do. Not all, of course. But you get my point.

Go rob a store, not hurting anyone but just taking the money, and see how fast you'll go to jail.
But if you work for a huge bank, and rob millions of people of their FUTURES, we'll throw even more money at you and you'll make millions of dollars a year!

I like how no one complains about Romans, Greeks, Persians, Vikings, or anyone else conquering for that matter. But America? Most hated country in the world. Thats the price for being free
