  • I saw a guy grid down the finish on an iron bar and put it is his tank. For iron deficiency. He wipes off the rust in the water ever day.For your size tank it would only have to be 3 to 4 inch bar. His plants looked great

  • @laxpro3000 interesting, ill give that a try. thanks

  • co2,,,closet room... red and blue lights . lets cut the bullshit ,aquaponics will grow weed ( i did it)

  • true it would work for that. I don't disapprove or discourage but my main focus is food production. this unit is practice for a 110 gal out door set up that i am slowly collecting parts for. On the other hand hops are in cannabis sativa family. As far as the co2 its from my kegerator i recently unplugged so no reason not to use it in the garden. I will have a part 2 this weekend, its growing good!

  • How many fish do you have?

  • There are 2 sucker fish 4 ghost shrimp and 9 gold fish.

  • Just from what I've read, adding worms to the grow bed sounds like a good idea. You realize the hops will take over that closet like crazy, right?

  • once you get more biology (fish & bacteria) you will see less nutrient deficiency.

    cool setup

  • where did you get the light fixture?

  • Do you just have the grow beds sitting on top of the tank? Is it holding up well with that much weight on top of it? I was thinking that I would have to build a shelf for the grow beds.

  • Seriously about dropping the lights to 3-4 inches. As long as they are florescent lights, (any kind that don't get too hot) it helps a whole lot.

  • thanks for the info.hey is this system still going? i'd be interested in seeing it now. 8 mos later. i'm designing a aquaponics system for my 85 gal fishtank. im thinkin bout using a rain gutter. and rocks from the bottom of the tank.

  • add iron to your fish tank you can get it from garden center.

  • O one more thing, drop the lights3 to 4 in. from the plants
