The Mormon church would rather you paid attention to something else, but it's a fact: LDS prophets have consistently taught that the garden of Eden was in Missouri.
Probably not in 40 days but the bible tells us it rained for 40 days. After the rain stopped the water was still there. it took about a year for Noah to land. 5 miles an hour for a year is about 40,000 miles. Thats enough to make the trip 7 times
I wouldn't say we're embarrassed about it. remember, we believe in a literal flood. Evidence for the world being filled from an origin of North America isn't necessary, then. It would have to be shown from the mountains of Ararat, where the Ark landed. It's not Africa, but it is a problem common to all of Christianity that takes the Bible literally; not just Mormons.

You should be embarrassed.

Is that even possible? A huge wood tub bobbing aimlessly at an average of 5 miles an hour from Missouri to Mt. Ararat in Turkey in 40 days?
