Van Halen - I'm The One - performed on guitar

I decided to make another video of this song, because 1) my last version had fuzzy video quality, and 2) I just love playing it. Obviously, parts were improvised - but anyone that knows Eddie Van Halen's style well enough knows he frequently does too. At least that is my excuse for not playing all note-for-note LOL. I hope you still enjoy it :) The amp used was a Peavey JSX: I used the Ultra channel for most of it, except for 2:55-3:10 wherein I used the Crunch channel. For effects, I used a little bit of delay and reverb in an attempt to recreate Ed's classic Echoplex sound. I probably should have used a little more of each, but I wanted you to be able to hear the guitar a little more purely. Thanks for watching! =VH= forever!

pretty good, but if you listen to Eddie he clearly swings the rhythm whereas you're playing the rhythm straight. A lot of players make that mistake.

@hummarstra ...Thanks, and yeah I've never heard anyone but Ed play it exactly like he does. No videos on YouTube that I have seen are 100%.

That's all well and good, but a REAL musician could play this song on Guitar Hero on HARD difficulty!

Just kidding. That was incredible and a lot of fun to listen to. I think that if I could play that well I'd never leave the house. Just play amazing stuff all day!
