Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) visited the East Texas Food Bank and Smith County Sheriff's Office Community Garden on Tuesday, May 31st. The 4-acre garden produced more than 23,000 pounds of vegetables in its first year, providing almost 18,000 meals.
"This is a great example of what can be done around the country," Sen. Cornyn said. "It really is literally an unmet need."
