Neghittosi or voi che fate? Fulminate, Cieli, omai sul capo all'empio! Fate scempio dell'ingrato, del crudel che m'ha tradita, impunita, l'empietà riderà nel veder poi fulminato qualche scoglio o qualche tempio.
SHE DOESN;T EVEN SING ALL THE NOTES.TEMPO WOULD BE CONSIDERD GOOD IF ALL THE NOTES WERE THERE.STILL,NICE EFFORT TO EMBELLISH IN THE DA CAPO SECTION!!!PREFER EMMA KIRKBY
Although a fantastic musician, I have to agree here that Minkowski is going nuts with this tempo, as Rousset and Spinosi now do as well... I'm scared to sing for these guys in Europe, they take everything at a frenetic pace and sometimes (if not always) at the sake of the music. "I can sing like I'm flying at 300,000 miles an hour but can I be musical at the same time?" - mostly not!
I agree, it should be a bit slower. I do understand for those that don't play in opera orchestras, or know much about opera in general it sounds exciting and very urgent at this tempo, but it is also as urgent and thrilling at a slightly slower tempo. The beauty of live opera (if this was done live) is that each night is so different - if this was her first night, she might have been anxious and as musicians we have to roll with it.. so many variables..
Cangemi haters, 1 guy from Argentina who made 30 accounts just to give Cangemi videos a bad rating. In fact his name is crindoro here on youtube, you might have seen his videos.
she does sing all the notes. I don't get anyone disliking this. the tempo is exciting! it really brings the aria to life.

No, it is not. Cangemi is a saint. She sings all the agilità with precision and ease. But the tempo is too fast for the violins and the bass.

The tempo is great.

I think the main drawback here is Minkowski's hysterical tempo. Rather un-musical. Cangemi sings very well.

Neither do I, but then there are so many people who don't know much about this, that are given the power to vote, so go figure.
