Thanks for the memories. We would head to Indy on Friday afternoon and always camped at Clermont Lions Club Park. Four days at Indy.....WOW ! I could write a book, I have so many good times tucked away in my mind. Remember when track was secured at 5:00pm and all cars were taken back to the local motels ? Late night thrashs.....damn, I miss that !
Hey, I just posted a video response. It's very similar to your video, home movies, super 8 camera, Indiana drag racing. I was hoping you or someone might recognize the track and tell me exactly where it was. It was filmed by my uncle and I'm not familiar with Indiana. I only know this was his scene, and another uncle just might be running one of the cars therein. There's some pretty nice panoramic shots. Hope you might can help.
That is George Brazee's "Little Giant" B/A car at 5:24. It is an orange painted Crawsley wagon. Geroge and his brother were regulars at the old Dover Drag Strip in N.Y. He won at Indy and also set the record for his class. Nobody knows where that car is today.

Great vintage footage of some famous cars. Drag racing in it's hayday. Loved every minute of it. Brought back lots of great memories.
