@ramber100 - I agree with the formula but not that is has not been applied. Prior to the boule's toxic effects, the formula worked. ie black wallstreet and the many that existed around the country. check out the book, sundown towns by james loewen. as far as sellouts, we have many and as long as money is the god of this world, that doesn't seem to be a problem that can be solved. the trick is investing in our own movement. I agree that it's a great answer but how does one overcome apathy,

True, but nobody wants to be poor if a Black person sees an opportunity to make some legal money they will take it to live well. Hip Hop is a slave to these white major record labels they have the overall power from a money and distribution perspective. Same thing happend with Rock n Roll, R'B, and Blues.
