  • Mr. Scott was the real deal! What a powerful voice and personality. This man should have been up there with Otis, Al Green, etc. R.I.P. Mr. Scott. Your music will live on in our hearts!

  • Thank you for the comment. But this is amazing! My middle name is Lineila! I thought I was the only one in the world with that name. How did your family come up with the name Linelia?

  • lol is that announcer Barry Bonds?

  • Who's Barry Bonds?

  • What a classic performance, but why only 1,035 views? This is great stuff...where is the rest of it?

  • That was the only song Freddie Scott performed that night.

He was actually in the audience for Carlton

    J. Smith Show. Carlton saw Mr. Scott sitting in the audience and asked him if would do the honors of performing the song "Hey Girl". It was really nice.

  • I have just died and gone to Soul Heaven....Freddy's version of 'Hey Girl' is the most beautiful beat ballad ever. The Temps do a great version but Mr Scott rules. Freddy R.I.P and thank you, thank you xxx

  • Thanks for posting this 2006 performance by Mr. Scott of one of the MOST loved songs of the 1960's. If this song didn't touch your heart, you don't have one,

    Thanks again,

  • @motownjo1960 When did the Temps do a version of this song?

  • This song is hauntingly melancholy and beautiful, with a feeling and sound like no other, just as Billy Joel said describing this song and the effect it had on him.It appears that in this performance Mr. Scott's voice got even better, strong and clear with a nice vibrato. I was 7 when I first heard it on my little cheapo AM 9transistor pocket radio. The deep emotion I experienced from this song compounded by the collective national feeling of tragic grief over the JFK assassination was too much.

  • @pyannaguy AMEN!!!!!!!

  • Freddie Scott owns a little sweet slice of eternity with that gorgeous, classy song and that huge beautiful voice. It's immortal to those who were fortunate enough to know it and hear and love it. Listen to the original...and experience dimensionless, sensitive Soul.

  • I knew Freddie and I miss him dearly, LUNICIDE loves you Freddie, let the Hennecy Flow, Rest In Piece My Brother.

    Tone Lucid

  • One of my favorite songs perfomed by one of my favorite singers. He'll be missed by his family, fans, and of course the music community.
