@rockbug00 Yes, you are right.. I agree that Wetton focuses more on the core composition and Fripp liked to experiment and give more room for creativity... I guess it all comes down to a matter of personal taste... I respect Wetton a lot, but I'd would be lying if I said I don't enjoy Fripp's work better tho.. They're are both great and it's impossible to compare them... Long live real music!!! <3

@schism1986 I give great credit to Wetton though, exactly for this: with versions of Crimson songs like like 'easy money' or 'the nightwatch' (check the 'Amata' version), he brought the core composition of the song to prominence, Fripp was never really focused on doing this. And the composition is great and distinct, if even in a minimal way.

@schism1986 You should check Wetton's "Sub Rosa/Live in Milan" acoustic version of this song, that's where he gets the best out of it. But don't get hooked in what Fripp did with these songs, Wetton's approach is totally different, there's no point in comparing the two: Wetton focuses on the core composition while Fripp invested heavily on experimentation in the orchestration process, and allowed for extended improvisation.

John Wetton is singing better now, if anything, but his bass skills got kinda dull, as is this whole song, i don't know why, i should love this but... it's got no edge, sounds kinda generic... they are all talented musicians obviously, but it lacks that raw, penetrating tone that only Fripp can put in it, as i suppose happens with all ex KC members who go on to make KC covers... Nice to see J.Wetton still performing 30 years later tho!

@schism1986 Yes! I agree. This is John Wetton Band, not King Crimson. The band has to play several stages of Wetton career, which are very distinct and several talented and original musicians. King Crimson, UK, Asia, Solo e etc. It is difficult for a band sound good for so many different styles. But are good versions :D

Ir de Starless a Heat of The Moment e vice-versa.
