Officially known as the ICE or Inter City Express, this German engineered locomotive is one of the fastest trains in Europe. Developed by Siemens Corporation, the ICE3's typical cruising speed is around 185 mph, but is capable of a top speed of 228.7 mph. With forty-five in existence, the loco mainly operates in Germany, but is also in use in Paris, Austria, Nederland, and Switzerland. Experiments involving modifications for regular winter usage are also being conducted in Western Russia. A few wider variations have been ordered for use in China's Beijing-Tianjin route. I shot this video in Montabaur on the high-speed route between Cologne and Frankfurt. I love trains and I'm not going to forget this part of my trip to Germany.

  • Mention that the speed of the video has been modified I think... but that's how it feels like. I had travel on the TVG, 200 km/h and no sound, no vibration, pure joy. Thanks

  • @SURFSIDEPOTRERO The video is unaltered. I uploaded straight from my camera to Youtube. Lucky, I never actually got to ride on the ICE. I'm sure the TGV wouldn't be much different...

  • It is so dangerous to let trains drive 1 meter near you with a high speed like this!...

  • @Altair00011 Actually, because the train does not enter the station loading line, it remains at least 7 yards or about 6.4 meters away. I was safe and it was fun!

  • Hmmm, interesting! The sources I was cross checking when I put up the description were unclear so I simply guessed.Thank you for clarifying.

  • @Altair00011 No, that's forbidden. Maximum speed to pass a platform is 200 km/h. 230 km/h is possible in some cases. But this is around 300 km/h amd you'll never see an ICE pass a platform that fast.

  • @DERCANDYMANN yes but at other stations they drive 1 meter of u so fast ... and that is a "bit" too fast I think...

  • This shtit can became 315 km/h fast D

  • It is also modified for the different Russian tracks. It has been developed be Siemens Trasportation and is called Velaro Rus. Velaro is the Name off the Siemens Highspeed trains which are based on the ICE 3, but the ICE is not a Velaro.

  • Jesus xD
