@vgman94 eh, by my definition, repeatedly being locked into rooms by barriers with the same enemies would be classified as repetitive; don't get me wrong, at least this game was a step in the right direction as far as development quality goes, and it's contribution to the franchise is largely underrated. However, a key installation of Sega's most popular franchise isn't the time for the company to "try a new genre" with mechanics inverse to the traditional gameplay of the series.
-
@chocobofiesta Repetitive? Repetition means to repeat an action. Sonic in the Day stages is far more simple and far more repetitive. Good, but repetitive. The Werehog has puzzle elements, 30 unlockable attacks and platforming. By definition, it's not as repetitive. The series is "known for" speed, but that didn't stop the Adventure games from being acclaimed despite Sonic's speed levels being the minority of those games. Speed doesn't mean it's good, just as trying a new genre doesn't = bad.
-
@vgman94 @vgman94 sure I guess, other than it slows gameplay to a screeching halt in a series known solely for "super-sonic" speed. All the were-hog levels play like a take on Wario World (complete with the music), which is entirely unfitting; I mean that's not entirely true -- Wario World was actually sorta good, where as the night levels in Unleashed are simply repetitive and dull, especially when compared with the other portions of the game.

The thumbnail makes it look like Sonic's fighting on earth.

Robotnik: WHY MEEEEEEE?!
So much laughing there
-
@vgman94 I think the gist of it is that Sonic doesn't need it - His strength is his unbreakble speed and it should always be.

TIME FOR A CHANGE OF PACE
The Werehog is so underrated. I've seen only ONE professional review out of 100 that actually gives it any credit. It was some magazine that gave Unleashed a 9.0. That's the only review close to what it deserves (I rate it a 9.6.). The Werehog has 30 moves and fun platforming. There's nothing bad about it aside from the battle theme.
