n the days leading up to the G8/G20 Summits, activists and community organizers have been co-ordinating events and actions around Themed Days of Resistance, which highlight different issues each day, as a build-up to the Days of Action that are scheduled for June 25-27.

The theme for June 24 was Indigenous Sovereignty and the streets of Toronto saw a First Nations led march of over 1500 people.

Later in the day a press conference was held, and members of Defenders of the Land and No One is Illegal (two groups involved in the march) spoke to reporters in front of the three kilometre, $5.5 million security fence that has encircled the area around the summit site in downtown Toronto.

In this video, Syed Hussan of No One is Illegal Toronto, addresses reporters.

  • Syed Hassam helped organize events such as the Tent City where people slept in Allen street park to raise awarness about both Toronto's homeless population and the many people stuck in refugee camps around the world which famous author and activist Naomi Klein alongisde Democracy Now! reporter Amy Goodman lead a march to after the Shout out for Global Justice at Massey Hall. No one is illegal is about not deporting such people, as refugees fleeing brutal military dictatorships.

  • I went to a public party thrown by this guy's group and he was extremely rude to me. He must have thought I was a cop, he tried to tell me to get out of there while we were on a public street! I think he's a hypocrite because he is blatantly ageist and sexist towards the people he wants to dominate. He's also a crybaby, he would have a better chance convincing Saturn to change orbit than getting the G20 to abolish themselves just because he stamps his foot and bawls like a cranky baby.

  • @myshimash wow I feel like if i respond to you i'm going to be on cesus's list or something. i mean seriously your profile is real sketch. lol lol #fail

  • what is this guy talking about? i just hear wah wah wah, All i got out of this speech is hes gonna hit the streets and jump some fences.

  • Syed, you need to patch things up with daddy.

Watch some cricket, have some laughs and a few beers.

Riot Cop = Daddy... It's sooo obvious ! Talk to someone, you're a young, smart guy. It's not too late to get your life back together.
