If you are afraid when the police roll up, then that is a good thing. Because it is those that are not afraid that end up getting shot. As for "exit wounds" cops usually carry a 9mm or 40S&W with thin jacketed hollow points. There won't be much in the way of exit wounds on a squarely shot person. And who cares if Smith had a gun? I've got pistols and a concealed carry permit. That doesn't mean I'm suddenly fair game to be shot by police. If he shot at police first, then yeah. Otherwise, cops with itchy trigger fingers were in the wrong.
