The 3th All Japan Kendo 8-Dan holder's Invitational Tournament was held at Nakamura sport center in Nagoya on 17th April 2005.

Yamanaka hit Men and beet Shiraishi at the Final Match !!!

全日本選抜剣道八段優勝大会とは
本大会は平成１４年まで「明治村剣道大会」として行われた剣道八段戦を本連盟が継承し 、平成１５年に第１回大会を主催しました。
全国５００余名の八段受有者の中から、受有後５年を経た６５才以下に該当する１００余 名が抽出され、さらに選考委員会において厳選された心技ともに円熟した３２名によって 行われるトーナメント方式の大会です。

I have met and taught by Yamanaka Sensei on several occasions. It astonishes me how much intensity and speed with which he can still fight in his sixties!!
