Message to mean pro-lifers: "Get off of YouTube!"

During the taping of an episode of the Life Report podcast, Josh ended up in an impromptu rant about the mean pro-lifers making comments on YouTube videos. This happened while reading some comments that pro-choicer Kenna made about our series responding to her video on "pro-life lies." She has really enjoyed that series and was conceding that many of the statements from her video come from mean pro-lifers on YouTube. And then Josh goes ballistic...

Wow. I am very pleasantly surprised by this video. As a pro-choice supporter, I'd prefer to have a discussion over a "Bitch Fight" any day, but that doesn't usually happen. I've never had an actual discussion with a pro- life supporter who will just TALK to me. They ALWAYS jump straight to calling me a supporter of "Baby Killing". Oh, and they ALWAYS tell me I'm going to hell.

LifeReport...You demand that 'mean' prolifers get off of YouTube™ You assert that their 'mean-ni-ness' is setting back the Pro-Life cause,which you advocate, in the eyes of the virtual audience. Please Sir, you are vague and ambiguous. What are examples of this prolife 'meanness' that you desire to censor? Have I posted anything 'mean' and how do I know if I post what is from my intellect and my heart? How are you certain that these 'mean' posts by 'mean' prolifers sets us back in our cause?

Then why did you spend so much time spamming my comments section with dozens of posts? How do you propose that abortion be abolished? I think it will be partially through education and discussion, and that is what I spend some of my time doing.

Yes. "Meanness" is a much more serious problem than human life. Perhaps I am just biased from prior military service, but that sounds completely ridiculous to me. And it is completely ridiculous to suppose that anyone will get off of YouTube. And the reality of 70 million dead unborn children is absolutely infuriating. I can't say I can really identify with this thinking.

And by pro-fetus I'm referring to how many 'pro-lifers' support animal abuse - where things are far worse than abortion has ever been (as seen by the pro-lifers' continued consumption of meat that is from factory farms and other such things)

The problem is that the pro-choicers don't understand that it is a child that they are killing.

They have a variety of reasons to justify this belief, and you have to learn to refute those arguments in terms they can understand instead of attacking the person or forcing your personal beliefs on the matter down their throat.

Calling people, "sadistic and deranged." just further supports my point that the pro-lifers (who tend to be only pro-fetus) are the nasty ones in the debate.

I could say the same thing about the people that support the war in Iraq and Afghanistan but I don't. Calling people names is immature and doesn't convince them of anything.

Well anyway, let me put it this way so you see where I'm coming from. Let's say you meet someone who thinks it is perfectly acceptable to rape a 5 year old girl, burn her skin off, and then cut her limbs off just because he feels entitled to do so. Would you honestly attempt to have a respectful and logical argument with such a lunatic or would you walk away instead of wasting your time?

Resorting to ad hominems doesn't help your case.

And once again, take a look at what 'pro-lifers' (though they often times end up being solely pro-fetus) are saying. Try not to be subjective/bias in your observation. It's not a secret - but they are the nasty ones in the debate.

@cmadison93 I can discuss human developmental biology and they can either learn from it and try to make better ethical decisions or not.

If they think that killing a baby at 36 weeks gestation is acceptable then I end the discussion right there. At that point there is nothing more to say.
