I've had this all my life, its not funny, and its very debilitating. I let some dude drill two holes in my head, insert electrodes into my brain, and bury two cell phone size batteries in my chest, JUST TO MAKE THIS STOP! Its nice to laugh at it every now and then, but in the big picture, its not funny at all.

You wouldn't know so shut the fuck up.
When you are disabled you can't do things that the rest of the world does without even thinking about it. It's very frustrating, and you're facing your handicap every day, every hour.
By the way the handcap only exists because you can't do something that OTHERS can actually do, so it those OTHERS advice you to laught about it, it's becoming a bit iritating, don't you think?

@matthewnsea whatever, people make fun of all kinds of disorders. I was porn with a deformed right hand but I could care less if people made fun of it. Build a better sense of humor, its healthy to laugh...even at disorders...

I can hardly get toothpaste on my toothbrush, or turn the pages of a book. My cats are really understanding.

(cont...) the character while not making jokes at the expense of those of us with ET and hurting peoples feelings.

In your example it's the situation itself that is funny. There's nothing wrong with laughing at someone (handicapped or not) in that scenario. I understand the spirit of what you're saying though.
If the "filmmaker's" intent was to provide humor, why not make the character be someone who stopped his daily java cold turkey & is suffering major caffeine withdrawals? With as much people hooked on coffee, many more laughs would have been achieved by people who could identify with (cont...)
By the way, I don't know the purpose of this movie, but I like it.
Fun and sad.
