Shure SM57s sometimes do have a sticker. It's 58s that shouldn't.

when i open up my sm57 , there is a green wire and a yellow wire. only my yellow wire is connected. is this bad?

the new sm57's do in fact have a sticker instead of a metal band. i think the easiest thing to check on your mic here is the shure logo on the sticker, if the R is raised above the other letters then it is definitely a fake. also the sticker on the new sm57's has a matte finish (non shiny) most of the fakes have a shiny sticker. thumbs so people dont get worried by there brand new 57 not having a metal band and yelling at there honest music dealer :P
