AND PARTY EVERY DAY: THE INSIDE STORY OF CASABLANCA RECORDS is a BRAND NEW 320-page, hardcover book from Casablanca cofounder Larry Harris and the authors of KISS Alive Forever. Visit http://www.casablancabook.com to read excerpts from the book and purchase a signed copy directly from the authors.

DONNA SUMMER: This is an excerpt from the 1978 Casablanca Records produced 45-minute TV special for the "Thank God It's Friday" film featuring Donna Summer's single "Last Dance." This aired in the U.S. on The Midinght Special. If anyone has a broadcast master of these videos please let us know as we are trying to reacquire several "lost" Casablanca Records film and videotape elements. See our Web site for more details.

AND PARTY EVERY DAY is the very first full-length book about the infamous 1970s record label and its enigmatic founder Neil Bogart. In a blizzard of wild parties, spending, and fearless ambition, Casablanca Records launched the careers of KISS, Donna Summer, Parliament Funkadelic, Angel, the Village People, and single-handedly created the disco movement. Add an Academy Award-winning film division with product like The Deep, Midnight Express, Foxes, and The Hollywood Knights and you begin to understand why Casablanca became the hottest record label of the 1970s. Visit http://www.casablancabook.com to see more Casablanca Records videos.

  • Awesome Donna!

  • Why does it seem that the powers that be in black music continually ignore Donna. She was a great artist who topped the charts for years yet they ignore her when honoring the greats. BET, ESSENCE,SOULTRAIN and others?

  • Behold, the Queen of Disco!

  • this is right when i started going to clubs.. wow!

  • donna did have the look of one of those women who worked in the european theater stage scene here. vh1 should have shown videos like this years ago but did not.

  • I used to frequent OSKOS Disco and was there the last day of the filming of the movie. Never got to meet Donna...I met Valerie Landsburg though...great cast in this movie!!! I sing Last Dance with the band I'm in and to this day I still get goosebumps with this song!!!

  • Wow! It seems just like yesterday, back in High school and sneaking into San Francisco's North Beach Disco, The Catalyst , a large old warehouse with a wooden dance floor and dancing to this song. Wow! then making it back in time for school.

  • TGIF is a fun movie! Love this song too.

  • Osko's, which stood on a wedge of property at La Cienega and San Vicente near 3rd street in Los Angeles, was eventually demolished and in 1990, a store was erected: "Loehmann's".where I worked for many years The store still stands today. It was interesting to know that I was employed in a spot where a classic Donna song was born. Years later I would meet Donna at a book signing not 2 miles from this spot and it turned out we had a mutual friend...who had also worked at that store! Small world!!

  • wow more more donna do this again
