@ce53 at the moment i am having all new cages built but you can see the cages i am using at the moment in one of my video's i submitted. i only have 3 gouldians now but did have 4 young but i gave them away for free to a gentlaman who had all of his birds stolen. gouldians do get borred and i put things like long clusters of straw in their cage for them to tug on, they like that. from observation they need more than to fly and sing they need mental stimulation :) nice cages though

i also breed gouldians but i have a lot more perches for them to choose from, you should never keep all perches the same diameter as it can cause rhumatism in their later life in their feet. you have nice cages but way too clinical for a bird(un-natural) and there is little for then to do appart from hoping from one end to the other all day long. sorry its not a dig at you but im thinking for the birds well being.

@dchubad The perches are different diameters (12mm & 15mm). 5 perches in each flight, I think thats plenty. I want to give them as much room as possible to fly. Keep them fit. Thanks for the comment, you should put up a vid of your gouldian cages. Id like to see, maybe get some ideas.

do you think about 51 degrees faranight would be ok
josh81811 3 months ago
@josh81811 thats about 10 degrees celsius. I think its a bit too cold but if you acclimatise them slowly they might be ok. find out what temp there kept at by the breeder and bring it down from that over a month or two.

Do you give them heat?

@josh81811 I have an oil-filled rad in the room. Its usually around 17-18 degrees.
