I remember a particularly lovely experience with a U.S.-based carrier- Continental Airlines. In short, our flight from Montréal was canceled because of wild-cat strikes which resulted in us being driven to Manchester, N.H. then to Boston, Mass where they lost our luggage and put us on another airline completely. Our luggage arrived at our destination days late-- Airlines seem to feel complete immunity when dealing with passengers, as if we're children to be herded around and talked down to.

First it is called US Airways not united airways. Second not like they knew they were going to be there for 4+ hours so they put only the amount of drinks on there for the flight. Third If it was southwest, or Frontier you wouldn't be complaining and would be totally fine with it.
