  • Thanks for posting these great videos! Can you tell me what kind of lathe you are using? Looks like a Harrison or Colchester. Lucasofmn

  • @ltousig I actually have two lathes that I love, and wouldn't trade any other. The first is the 13x40 2500 Clausing Colchester in the video, and the other is South Bend Heavy ten that can do everything the colchester can do. I have built several benchrest rifles on that Heavy Ten that shoot one hole.

  • Thanks for posting these videos. I have learned a lot! Have you installed any M16 style extractors in Remington 700 bolts?

  • @vajake1 Sorry, but I never have. The bolts I order from PTG can and are ordered with them already in the bolt.

  • hey would love to build my own custom rifle but have never built anything do you now of any great books to teach gun smithing at home

  • @monkey50cal I have done a lot of reasearch in the past, and what I have found is crap without enough detail to help you learn enough to do this on your own. There are videos for sale that show how to, but most are out dated. That's why I made these videos for everyone to veiw, FREE. Instead of keeping what I learned the hard why to my self, I thought it would be nice to share it. An actual college program would be best, but even they don't offer specialized things like rifle building.

  • @gangstajoey03 They haven't updated their site in a while. That is standard on their actions. That and the M16 style extractor are changes in the last couple of years. Plus their bolts and handles are now one peice.

  • I was looking at the Stiller website and don't see anything about the picatinny rails being pinned, just the recoil lugs. Is that standard on their actions or something you specified custom on the ones you ordered?

  • @heliwraps The web site is off the air because I retired my shop.

  • Thank you sir for taking the time to put up the videos and more I am just now learning the trade and I know what I was aiming for as my field. I tried to get to your website but It said it was down. I hope you keep making videos I've learned a lot from you.
