  • Please tell us the gesso recepie. Save us the work of spending lots of money and time experimenting. I tried making gesso with rabit skin glue but it did not take the gold.

  • Have you had a look at the Gottingen model book, a great late medieval primer on figuring, esp, acanthus leaves and diapering.

    NIce work btw.

  • that's it? there's no final conclusion video?? lameee

  • how did it turn out?

make a video about the results :D I bet it's great

  • BygoneArts,

Are you using water based gouache paints? Or do you mix your own pigments/binders from scratch? I'm currently using gouache.

  • This great! I've seen some amazing illuminated manuscripts at an exhibition at the New York Public Library a couple of years ago and I was amazed by the beauty of these books. Some books were iridescent and had a glowing quality. I hope see more in the near future, perhaps even attempt at making one. Thanks!

  • Beautiful, intricate work. 5*

  • Your series is quite excellent. You do your work with great care and beauty. Thank you for sharing the whole set.
