Can I use a zip ties to mount the fans instead of aluminum bar?

Not sure, I tried it with zip ties and could bot get it to work, that does not mean its not possible, worth a shot by someone else.

Did you use screws on that aluminum bar to put it in your case?

No scotch heavy duty double sided tape, stuff holds very good.

I tryed it with zip ties and it was really crappy..then i took one of the 5.25 bay cover and super glues one end of the fan to it..that worked very well..but i took it off becuase i needed the 3 drive bays it too up for a liquid cooling res

Very nice idea, I might use this little mod my self on my cosmos s when it arrives, I see you posted 1/8th thick by 3/4" by 36", whats the exact measurement of the cur you made for its lenght ?
