How to Make a System Restore Point in Windows 7

This video tutorials shows how you can create a system restore point in Windows 7. If you get a virus on your computer, you can use System Restore to go back in time to an earlier date when the virus was not on your system. Microsoft claims that none of your personal files are damaged during the process, but I would back them up to DVDs or an External Hard drive before actually restoring.

I want my system to restore to 25 January, 2012. I had a file, So I added the description "Before 'filename' ". But all it does it select a date from this week. Whats going on?

Thank you so much! Installed a thing called Magentic for wallpapers & screen savers and it messed up my Windows 7 :/ I was going crazy looking arnd to restore to before,couldn,t find how to create my own rerstore point, no the ones it had. You saved me :) now it,s 1:40am and I can finally go to sleep lol thanks :)
