@RITFWKen That's awesome man, hopefully she'll be a huge REM fan to match the name. :)

Love the mid starting at 1:58, also like verse two especially.

Sometimes people don't like songs they have had a part in because of memories associated with them, rather than having a dislike of the result of the music that was actually produced.

Today is a sad day. After hearing Chronic Town and buying Murmur 28 years ago when i was a senior in HS, it feels like someone has passed away. I try and think of my favorite song and i can't. Or if i did it would change five minues from now. Its silly to say they were the best but i do know the music has been part of my life for over 28 years. I can't think if anything i've ever liked or needed that long. Thanks guys, you came along at a time when i needed you and you'll always be here

Ah, I recall many listenings of Reckoning. End of this song meant time to flip the tape to Side 2. /old fart

But It is the best song ever! Along with Drive :)

Great song but clearly influenced by "All Tomorrow's Parties" by the Velvet Underground.

@RITFWKen That would've been my second child's name had he been a girl. Beautiful name as well as a beautiful song.

This video is designed to piss Stephen Malkmus off
Not that anyone cares, but we named our daughter Annelise because of this song. Great memories.....

i remember reading an article in which stephen malkmus said this was the one song he didn't like off of Reckoning. i was a bit shocked. i always thought of this song as an album highlight. completely entrancing, majestic and dream-like.
