A short video tribute to the late high school music director, William J. Sweeney. who served for over thirty years at Arlington High School in LaGrangeville, New York. Under his leadership, the marching band and the wind ensemble grew to be among the very finest in the country. He died on December 20th, 2008.

i also was in band with Mr. Sweeney in the 1970's - what a great time! We called him Henry Man-sweeney so much, we forgot his real name. He was a great guy, so sorry he's gone.

1979 Arlington grad, wind ensemble and marching band alumnus.
Finding this was the first I heard of his death. The late 70's was when both the wind ensemble and the marching band began to thrive. I was so fortunate to be a part of it. And it was all because of 'Henry'.
