  • Dude,

I'm getting into metal again after a ten year break. The stuff i like is in the vein of Mr. Vai. Trouble is with standard size guitars (boy! Have I owned a few) I find that with my very small girly hands (tho I'm a bloke of 5'7") I find certain technique difficult. Would the Mikro being smaller help. Cheers.

  • Indeed the fretboard is quite small and comfortable handling and you could appreciate that. Anyway, I think you can solve the problem with some specific exercises to increase the elastic ligaments of the hands , more than buying a smaller guitar...uhmmm...i guess Mr.Vai is however out of my reach!!! lol!!!

  • please please reply back to this question is the micro realy small and can it be for starters like me

  • This guitar is not so small as others...but,indeed, thats small enough. I guess it could be suitable to get involved in playing guitar and ,whereas the cheapest price, you can surely start your career buying a Mikro (may be further, you'd need more!!)

  • Excellent,

I was a little worried about buying a Mikro,

but it has a full sound. Is it lighter in weight?

  • Well...thats absolutely lighter in weight, even though not so small as other brands... But you can feel a different handling ,expecially from the fretboard, and need some days to get used to play it!

  • nice shredding! this video just confirmed my decision - i'm getting one to shred on!! thanks for the vid

  • Definitely Shredding! Nice Job. I have one and love it! Anyone here mod theirs?

  • To all people wanting to learn how to shred: This guitar is so easy to play that it feels like nothings there. Believe me, I have one myself. If you want to learn how to shred then you should buy one of these. The necks just a little bit shorter than a normal scale guitar so it allows you fingers to stretch farther on the fretboard than they normally would. It helps a lot with playing arpeggios.

  • thanks for the explanation man i mite buy one just for the hell of it..

  • If you are on a budget and want something fun to play on the go, then I would suggest you get one. Even with the problems I mentioned in previous posts, I still love this thing to death. I hope this helps you in your decision and good luck.

  • 3. Tuners are extremely cheap, so the guitar can be a little challenge to tune and keep in tune at times.

    4. No floating trem, but they had to keep costs down so I guess that it's not that big of a gripe.

    5. Pickup selector is extremely notchy, and makes an audible sound when switching positions.

Here's what I'm planning to do to make this better.

    1. repaint = House of Kolor purple to green kameleon paint job.

    2. sperzel locking tuners

    3. Fender 3 way selector upgrade

  • 3. Ease of travel = I can take this anywhere with me and not worry about my other guitars getting damaged. It is also light-weight and won't strain your back during play.

    4. Looks = Mine is white, so it looks a little like a mix between a PGM and EVH BW stripe frankie.

Here's what I don't like about the guitar

    1. The qaulity of paint and the thickness. Mine already has some small chips on the upper and lower horn from GC abuse.

    2. Neck pocket and body are not the best fitment.

  • I've owned mine for about 3 months, so I'll give you a quick review and my own opinions. Here's what I like about the Ibanez Mikro guitar.

    1. Playability = From the neck smoothness to the easy to reach upper range frets this little guy smokes. I also like the string tension on these as they feel like rubberbands under my fingertips.

    2. Pickups = This surprised me because I always upgrade to higher-end DiMarzio's, but these are actually prety nice sounding pickups.

  • The paint job sucks ass as well as some other minor flaws with the guitar. Here's my opinion on one since I've had mine for the past two months.

    1. again, cheap paint job

    2. low quality tuners

    3. pickup selector is extremely notchy

    4. neck pocket is too large for the neck

I know that doesn't sound like a good review, but I really like this guitar a lot for some reason. The playability of this thing is incredible when it's in tune, and the pickups really sound good on my amp.

  • shud i get a mikro cuz its cheap and easy acces for all the frets cuz ive been playing on my af artcore ibanez which is unshreddable...??? and cons for this guitar( ive been playing for a year) plz reply
