A medieval fighting recreation inspired by the Combat of the Thirty (1351 AD English vs. French) using modified SCA fighting rules. Three blows to the head were required to stun and then capture opponents for ransoms. Opponents could be killed by a thrust to vital areas not protected by armour. The rough nature of this fight is not typical of SCA armoured combat and does not represent fighters ignoring blows but as mentioned a modification to the rules. Ransoms are only given in the first fight (the true fight) and the second fight is just for extra fun.
This event took place at the annual Pennsic War XXXX in August 2011. Please provide comments and ratings for feedback.

  • I'm not sure I can tell you how much nicer this is to watch than the open field battle. Can we do it just like this every weekend? -Sir Damien
