  • You have never really cycled until your upper body is sore after a ride.

  • Cylcing if your really into it, can use every part of your body, your abs, your shoulders your triceps, when your going up hill you have to give it all you have, and sometimes that means pulling on the handlebars, which btw uses your upperbody. To do any sport, you need to be fit in very part of your body. Look at Lance ins his prime, he was strong in all the areas of his body not just his legs, he had great upper body strength.

  • @christianmusicalways I was talking about climbing and getting a sore upper body from standing and pulling with your arms. You don't think they get sore after a long ride? I'm sorry you didn't understand that I was meaning when your standing. Never really swayed too much when sitting.

  • @daddypants22

Your first sentence doesn't even make sense.

Pros sway while climbing because they're standing - swaying while standing and sitting are two different things.

Your last sentence also doesn't make sense. All cyclists have had upper body soreness because all of us cyclists have started off cycling at some point in our lives. We had to start from scratch and work our way up from there.

No need to start arguments over well known facts about cycling.

  • @christianmusicalways When you started cycling you had a great core and never used your arms to climb. Thats awesome for you. I've seen pros sway during tough climbs and I'm pretty sure they have strong cores. 2 years ago when I made this comment, I had been cycling for maybe 2 and I started from nothing so my core probably was weak. If your an avid cyclist and never had a sore upper body after cycling through the (catskills) hills for century rides. You should turn pro.

  • @daddypants22

Actually, upper body soreness after riding a bike is due to the fact that your core is weak, so you're swaying side to side while you pedal. This is common among people just starting out biking.

  • @gorodph Very true.

  • @daddypants22 Not true if you ride a recumbent...

  • @xsubmerged

Thanks for taking the time to search for that xsubmerged!

  • @par0imia Actually, your BMI is 20.7 based on your height / weight. You're in a healthy weight category and an ideal one for cyclist that excels at climbing. Look at Alberto Contador, Marco Pantani..etc

  • @snipesnrifles

Thanks for the advice because i'm underweight (5'9''/140 )

  • @anakin808

15 miles is a lot for a beginner, i'm a bit scared with just 6 miles.
